Sharing an appeal means the patient will be able to view the appeal (and its status) through their own Fight Health Insurance account — or create one if they don’t have it yet. In some cases, the provider can also choose to let the patient submit the appeal directly.
We’ve found this is especially helpful when insurers require “proof of failure” for cheaper or alternative treatments before approving the one you actually recommended. Patients can often answer questions about what they’ve already tried — and having their input can make an appeal stronger and faster to resolve.
If they log in (or sign up), the patient will be able to:
- View the appeal details and timeline
- Answer questions (like: “Have you tried physical therapy before surgery?”)
- Upload documents if needed (e.g., receipts, prior treatment notes)
You can also choose whether or not to allow them to submit the appeal — and in some cases this can be more effective.
This is totally optional. You’re in control. For appeals where patient involvement would help, we make it easy. Otherwise, you can keep things fully provider-managed.
